Gavà is a municipality in the province of Barcelona with 46,974 inhabitants, the 21st largest of its 311 municipalities. Its council has 21 seats, and 11 make a majority to choose the mayor.

In May 2023 PSC-CP came first with 40.1% of the vote and 10 seats; ERC - AM was second with 3. 47.9% of the 34,576 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
