Dénia is a municipality in the province of Alicante/Alacant with 43,899 inhabitants, the 9th largest of its 141 municipalities. Its council has 21 seats, and 11 make a majority to choose the mayor.
In May 2023 PSOE came first with 38.4% of the vote and 9 seats; PP was second with 7. 60.5% of the 29,433 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
