Sallaumines is a commune in Pas-de-Calais with 6,290 registered voters, the 34th largest of the département's 886 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 48.4% of them voted, fewer than the 60.3% across Pas-de-Calais, and ENSEMBLE POUR SALLAUMINES won 24 of the council's 29 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 44.2%, France Unbowed 25.1%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 13.7%. National Rally did 21 points better here than across France.
