Montigny-en-Gohelle is a commune in Pas-de-Calais with 6,385 registered voters, the 33rd largest of the département's 886 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 56% of them voted, fewer than the 60.3% across Pas-de-Calais, and the list led by Marcello Della Franca won 22 of the council's 29 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 45.8%, France Unbowed 21.9%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 17.3%. National Rally did 22 points better here than across France.
