Richelieu is a commune in Indre-et-Loire with 1,211 registered voters, the 74th largest of the département's 271 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 53.8% of them voted, fewer than the 56.6% across Indre-et-Loire, and RICHELIEU POUR TOUS, TOUS POUR RICHELIEU won 19 of the council's 19 seats in the first round.
In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 35.4%, National Rally 31.3%, France Unbowed 9.8%. France Unbowed did 12 points worse here than across France.
