Sospel is a commune in Alpes-Maritimes with 3,092 registered voters, the 40th largest of the département's 163 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 64% of them voted, more than the 55.3% across Alpes-Maritimes, and TOUJOURS POUR SOSPEL won 23 of the council's 27 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 33.7%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 21.1%, France Unbowed 14.9%. National Rally did 10 points better here than across France.
