Mequinenza is a municipality in the province of Zaragoza with 2,294 inhabitants, the 33rd largest of its 293 municipalities. Its council has 11 seats, and 6 make a majority to choose the mayor.
In May 2023 PSOE came first with 64.4% of the vote and 8 seats, an absolute majority; CIUDADANOS-TÚ ARAGÓN was second with 2. 66.5% of the 1,739 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
