Escalona is a municipality in the province of Toledo with 3,573 inhabitants, the 55th largest of its 204 municipalities. Its council has 11 seats, and 6 make a majority to choose the mayor.

In May 2023 PSOE came first with 81.9% of the vote and 10 seats, an absolute majority; PP was second with 1. 66.5% of the 2,890 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
