Tegueste is a municipality in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife with 11,359 inhabitants, the 19th largest of its 54 municipalities. Its council has 17 seats, and 9 make a majority to choose the mayor.

In May 2023 PSOE came first with 29.3% of the vote and 6 seats; CCA was second with 6. 67.8% of the 9,442 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
