Vilanova de Arousa is a municipality in the province of Pontevedra with 10,240 inhabitants, the 23rd largest of its 61 municipalities. Its council has 17 seats, and 9 make a majority to choose the mayor.
In May 2023 PP came first with 61.1% of the vote and 12 seats, an absolute majority; PSDEG-PSOE was second with 3. 69.3% of the 8,592 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
