Balaguer is a municipality in the province of Lleida with 17,460 inhabitants, the 3rd largest of its 231 municipalities. Its council has 17 seats, and 9 make a majority to choose the mayor.
In May 2023 PSC-CP came first with 28% of the vote and 6 seats; CM was second with 3. 55.9% of the 10,902 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
