Antigua is a municipality in the province of Las Palmas with 12,940 inhabitants, the 21st largest of its 34 municipalities. Its council has 17 seats, and 9 make a majority to choose the mayor.

In May 2023 ALXAN-NC came first with 36.3% of the vote and 7 seats; PP was second with 3. 59.1% of the 7,413 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
