Almonaster la Real is a municipality in the province of Huelva with 1,785 inhabitants, the 45th largest of its 80 municipalities. Its council has 9 seats, and 5 make a majority to choose the mayor.
In May 2023 PSOE-A came first with 60.9% of the vote and 6 seats, an absolute majority; PP was second with 3. 69.7% of the 1,579 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
