Mariana is a municipality in the province of Cuenca with 312 inhabitants, the 82nd largest of its 238 municipalities. Its council has 7 seats, and 4 make a majority to choose the mayor.

In May 2023 PSOE came first with 53.2% of the vote and 4 seats, an absolute majority; VOX was second with 3. 80.7% of the 254 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
