Pineda de Mar is a municipality in the province of Barcelona with 28,083 inhabitants, the 35th largest of its 311 municipalities. Its council has 21 seats, and 11 make a majority to choose the mayor.

In May 2023 PSC-CP came first with 52% of the vote and 13 seats, an absolute majority; ERC - AM was second with 4. 52.1% of the 20,458 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
