Molins de Rei is a municipality in the province of Barcelona with 26,242 inhabitants, the 38th largest of its 311 municipalities. Its council has 21 seats, and 11 make a majority to choose the mayor.

In May 2023 PSC-CP came first with 34.8% of the vote and 9 seats; ERC - AM was second with 5. 55.5% of the 20,179 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
