Martorell is a municipality in the province of Barcelona with 28,684 inhabitants, the 33rd largest of its 311 municipalities. Its council has 21 seats, and 11 make a majority to choose the mayor.

In May 2023 JUNTS PER MARTORELL - CM came first with 64.7% of the vote and 16 seats, an absolute majority; MM - C was second with 2. 56.5% of the 19,199 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
