Igualada is a municipality in the province of Barcelona with 40,767 inhabitants, the 24th largest of its 311 municipalities. Its council has 21 seats, and 11 make a majority to choose the mayor.

In May 2023 CM came first with 40.2% of the vote and 10 seats; SOM-HI - PSC - IO - CP was second with 5. 56.8% of the 29,421 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
