Carreño is a municipality in the province of Asturias with 10,226 inhabitants, the 18th largest of its 78 municipalities. Its council has 17 seats, and 9 make a majority to choose the mayor.
In May 2023 IU-SOMOS CARREÑO came first with 38.3% of the vote and 7 seats; PSOE was second with 5. 65.6% of the 8,624 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
