At the municipal election of March 2026 51.9% of them voted, fewer than the 54.4% across Yvelines, and CONTINUONS D'AGIR ENSEMBLE POUR VERNOUILLET won 25 of the council's 29 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 37.3%, France Unbowed 24%, National Rally 11.6%. National Rally did 12 points worse here than across France.
