Vélizy-Villacoublay is a commune in Yvelines with 14,358 registered voters, the 18th largest of the département's 259 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 57.6% of them voted, more than the 54.4% across Yvelines, and Façonnons Vélizy pour l'avenir won 29 of the council's 35 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 32.2%, France Unbowed 21.3%, National Rally 14.5%. National Rally did 9 points worse here than across France.
