Benet is a commune in Vendée with 3,267 registered voters, the 37th largest of the département's 253 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 62.7% of them voted, more than the 59.4% across Vendée, and BENET, DYNAMIQUE POUR VOUS ! won 24 of the council's 27 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 32.5%, National Rally 22.1%, France Unbowed 19.6%. Ensemble (Macron camp) did 5 points better here than across France.
