Thiais is a commune in Val-de-Marne with 18,416 registered voters, the 16th largest of the département's 47 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 47.8% of them voted, fewer than the 50.7% across Val-de-Marne, and ENSEMBLE POUR THIAIS won 34 of the council's 39 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted France Unbowed 31.6%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 29.4%, National Rally 14.6%. France Unbowed did 10 points better here than across France.
