Persan is a commune in Val-d'Oise with 6,648 registered voters, the 36th largest of the département's 183 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 46.6% of them voted, fewer than the 50.1% across Val-d'Oise, and UNIS POUR PERSAN won 26 of the council's 33 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted France Unbowed 43%, National Rally 23%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 16.7%. France Unbowed did 21 points better here than across France.
