Nangis is a commune in Seine-et-Marne with 5,412 registered voters, the 43rd largest of the département's 506 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 57.5% of them voted, more than the 51.6% across Seine-et-Marne, and NANGIS EN COMMUN won 22 of the council's 29 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 30.9%, France Unbowed 28.9%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 18.2%. Ensemble (Macron camp) did 9 points worse here than across France.
