Sathonay-Camp is a commune in Rhône with 4,530 registered voters, the 46th largest of the département's 266 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 55.4% of them voted, close to the 56.7% across Rhône, and NOUS SATHONAY won 25 of the council's 29 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 26.3%, National Rally 23.8%, France Unbowed 21%. Reconquête did 4 points better here than across France.
