Caluire-et-Cuire is a commune in Rhône with 30,411 registered voters, the 5th largest of the département's 266 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 59.5% of them voted, more than the 56.7% across Rhône, and Caluire Coeur Battant won 36 of the council's 43 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 36.8%, France Unbowed 21.6%, National Rally 11.7%. National Rally did 12 points worse here than across France.
