Corneilla-la-Rivière is a commune in Pyrénées-Orientales with 1,737 registered voters, the 58th largest of the département's 226 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 76.5% of them voted, more than the 61.5% across Pyrénées-Orientales, and CAP CORNEILLA won 15 of the council's 19 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 37.4%, France Unbowed 17.3%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 16.6%. National Rally did 14 points better here than across France.
