Bages is a commune in Pyrénées-Orientales with 3,586 registered voters, the 27th largest of the département's 226 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 65.4% of them voted, more than the 61.5% across Pyrénées-Orientales, and AGISSONS POUR BAGES won 22 of the council's 27 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 34.5%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 19.3%, France Unbowed 17.2%. National Rally did 11 points better here than across France.
