Ustaritz is a commune in Pyrénées-Atlantiques with 5,848 registered voters, the 16th largest of the département's 545 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 64.2% of them voted, close to the 62.5% across Pyrénées-Atlantiques, and UZTARITZE BAI won 23 of the council's 29 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 26.9%, France Unbowed 19.2%, National Rally 18.2%. Others did 9 points better here than across France.
