Hasparren is a commune in Pyrénées-Atlantiques with 5,750 registered voters, the 18th largest of the département's 545 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 65.2% of them voted, more than the 62.5% across Pyrénées-Atlantiques, and Hazparne bihotzean, Hasparren au coeur won 25 of the council's 29 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 24%, National Rally 19.1%, Others 19%. Others did 16 points better here than across France.
