Garlin is a commune in Pyrénées-Atlantiques with 974 registered voters, the 86th largest of the département's 545 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 75.7% of them voted, more than the 62.5% across Pyrénées-Atlantiques, and FIERS DE GARLIN, UNIS POUR ÉCRIRE DEMAIN won 12 of the council's 15 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 26.6%, National Rally 23.1%, France Unbowed 16.5%. Others did 11 points better here than across France.
