Assat is a commune in Pyrénées-Atlantiques with 1,633 registered voters, the 59th largest of the département's 545 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 50.9% of them voted, fewer than the 62.5% across Pyrénées-Atlantiques, and ASSAT, CULTIVONS NOS LIENS won 19 of the council's 19 seats in the first round.
In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 29.1%, France Unbowed 20%, National Rally 18.4%. Others did 7 points better here than across France.
