Sains-en-Gohelle is a commune in Pas-de-Calais with 4,711 registered voters, the 50th largest of the département's 886 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 53.8% of them voted, fewer than the 60.3% across Pas-de-Calais, and Agir ensemble au quotidien pour demain won 25 of the council's 29 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 50.1%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 19%, France Unbowed 15.1%. National Rally did 27 points better here than across France.
