Saint-Amand-les-Eaux is a commune in Nord with 13,073 registered voters, the 23rd largest of the département's 647 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 58.3% of them voted, more than the 54.3% across Nord, and ENSEMBLE SAINT-AMAND AU COEUR won 25 of the council's 33 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 28.2%, Communist Party 20.7%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 20.6%. Communist Party did 18 points better here than across France.
