Héric is a commune in Loire-Atlantique with 5,139 registered voters, the 50th largest of the département's 207 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 54.3% of them voted, fewer than the 58.3% across Loire-Atlantique, and HÉRIC ENSEMBLE won 25 of the council's 29 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 30.2%, National Rally 23.2%, France Unbowed 19.1%. Greens did 3 points better here than across France.
