Soorts-Hossegor is a commune in Landes with 4,181 registered voters, the 17th largest of the département's 327 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 67% of them voted, more than the 63.7% across Landes, and the list led by Olivier Bégué won 22 of the council's 27 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 40.2%, France Unbowed 13.4%, National Rally 12.3%. Ensemble (Macron camp) did 13 points better here than across France.
