At the municipal election of March 2026 74.1% of them voted, more than the 55.5% across Isère, and Un Nouvel Élan pour Saint Sorlin de Vienne won 13 of the council's 15 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 33.8%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 24.8%, France Unbowed 12.5%. National Rally did 10 points better here than across France.
