Sallanches is a commune in Haute-Savoie with 13,022 registered voters, the 4th largest of the département's 279 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 55.6% of them voted, more than the 52.9% across Haute-Savoie, and the list led by Sylvia Perruchione-Kunegel won 24 of the council's 33 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 30.5%, National Rally 22.9%, France Unbowed 15.9%. France Unbowed did 6 points worse here than across France.
