Plaisance-du-Touch is a commune in Haute-Garonne with 14,954 registered voters, the 6th largest of the département's 586 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 57.8% of them voted, close to the 58.7% across Haute-Garonne, and the list led by Florence Queval won 26 of the council's 35 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 29.9%, France Unbowed 23.8%, National Rally 17.8%. National Rally did 6 points worse here than across France.
