Bessières is a commune in Haute-Garonne with 3,234 registered voters, the 57th largest of the département's 586 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 65.4% of them voted, more than the 58.7% across Haute-Garonne, and the list led by Cédric Maurel won 21 of the council's 27 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 26.8%, National Rally 24.3%, France Unbowed 20.3%. Others did 3 points better here than across France.
