Froeningen is a commune in Haut-Rhin with 670 registered voters, the 189th largest of the département's 365 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 64.9% of them voted, more than the 51.8% across Haut-Rhin, and CONTINUONS ENSEMBLE won 12 of the council's 15 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 33.7%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 27.6%, France Unbowed 10.6%. France Unbowed did 11 points worse here than across France.
