At the municipal election of March 2026 53.2% of them voted, fewer than the 58.7% across Gironde, and Ensemble poursuivons pour Fontet won 15 of the council's 15 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 35.2%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 22.1%, France Unbowed 12.6%. National Rally did 12 points better here than across France.
