Cenon is a commune in Gironde with 15,597 registered voters, the 14th largest of the département's 534 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 41.2% of them voted, fewer than the 58.7% across Gironde, and ENSEMBLE, NOUS SOMMES CENON won 28 of the council's 35 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted France Unbowed 38.9%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 22.1%, National Rally 15.7%. France Unbowed did 17 points better here than across France.
