Saint-Martin-de-Valgalgues is a commune in Gard with 3,555 registered voters, the 35th largest of the département's 349 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 61.7% of them voted, more than the 59.4% across Gard, and SAINT-MARTIN AU COEUR won 22 of the council's 27 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 28.2%, France Unbowed 24.4%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 17.3%. Ensemble (Macron camp) did 10 points worse here than across France.
