Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort is a commune in Gard with 2,955 registered voters, the 45th largest of the département's 349 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 68.4% of them voted, more than the 59.4% across Gard, and Ensemble pour demain won 21 of the council's 27 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 28%, France Unbowed 26.6%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 17.1%. Ensemble (Macron camp) did 11 points worse here than across France.
