Aiffres is a commune in Deux-Sèvres with 4,433 registered voters, the 8th largest of the département's 252 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 58.9% of them voted, close to the 57.3% across Deux-Sèvres, and AIFFRES ENSEMBLE won 25 of the council's 29 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 35.7%, France Unbowed 19.5%, National Rally 19.3%. Ensemble (Macron camp) did 8 points better here than across France.
