Venarey-les-Laumes is a commune in Côte-d'Or with 2,066 registered voters, the 21st largest of the département's 697 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 63.2% of them voted, more than the 57.4% across Côte-d'Or, and Osez vivre autrement ! won 18 of the council's 23 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 37.5%, France Unbowed 19.7%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 19.4%. National Rally did 14 points better here than across France.
