Bretigny is a commune in Côte-d'Or with 819 registered voters, the 66th largest of the département's 697 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 76.7% of them voted, more than the 57.4% across Côte-d'Or, and BRETIGNY, NOS RACINES, NOTRE AVENIR won 12 of the council's 15 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 39.8%, National Rally 17.9%, France Unbowed 13.3%. Ensemble (Macron camp) did 12 points better here than across France.
