Vignoux-sur-Barangeon is a commune in Cher with 1,679 registered voters, the 16th largest of the département's 285 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 61.7% of them voted, more than the 55.7% across Cher, and the list led by Raynald Adams won 15 of the council's 19 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 37.9%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 25.3%, France Unbowed 13.4%. National Rally did 15 points better here than across France.
